Wagner Moisture Meters for Concrete and Wood Floors
Which Wagner Tool Fits Concrete, Wood, or Ongoing Monitoring?
Wagner moisture meters use separate tools for concrete slab testing, wood moisture checks, and ongoing logging. Choose Rapid RH L6 for in-situ concrete relative humidity testing or Orion pinless meters for wood moisture content. For records of conditions over time, use a logger. The material and measurement you need determine which kit to choose.
The Wagner Meters range includes Rapid RH L6 kits, readers, sensor packs, DataGrabber loggers, Orion wood meters, and the Orion C555 non-invasive concrete moisture meter. Floor Sentry logs conditions inside a wood floor. It pairs with Smart Logger V2 in the app so you can view ambient and in-floor conditions together. Its battery life is up to eight years, depending on logging frequency.
How Does Rapid RH L6 Test Concrete Slabs?
Rapid RH L6 kits are used for the ASTM F2170 standard for in-situ relative humidity testing in concrete slabs. An L6 Smart Sensor installs in the slab. Readings are available after 24 hours of sensor acclimation, and the Total Reader reads concrete RH and temperature from the sensor on contact. Each Smart Sensor has a factory calibration. The Total Reader needs no periodic calibration.
Kit choices include Starter Kit+, WFP350+, WFP400+, CFP405+, CFP415+, WFP450+, and True Remote Monitoring. Kits come in Fahrenheit or Celsius versions. Smart Sensor packs come in quantities of 5, 25, 50, or 100. The range also includes drill bits, caps, extensions, an insertion tool, a wire brush, a vacuum attachment, carrying cases, and pH test kits.
DataGrabber snaps onto an L6 Smart Sensor and takes readings on a schedule you set in the free DataMaster L6 app. It stores up to 512 data points, which you collect over Bluetooth without a Total Reader. Use the Total Reader for contact readings or DataGrabber for scheduled logging.

Which Orion Pinless Wood Meter Should You Choose?
Wagner moisture meters in the Orion pinless range read wood moisture content from 4% to 32% without pin holes. The USDA Forest Service Wood Handbook explains wood moisture content. Your choice of Orion model depends on the measurement depth you need and whether you want reading storage or smartphone connectivity.
The Orion 910 measures at 0.75 inch, while the 920 measures at 0.25 inch. The 930 lets you switch between those depths. The 940 and 950 each store 100 readings, and the 950 connects to smartphone apps. Orion wood meters have a seven-year limited warranty and come with an On-Demand Calibrator.

Brio Air Filtration = Game Changer
Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.

Bedroom machine
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
