TC8650 thermal imaging camera measures surface temperature and lets you capture, view and save thermal images directly on the camera. Restoration contractors, building inspectors, facility maintenance teams and HVAC technicians can review images on the 2.8 in screen without a phone or app. The camera has 160 x 120 infrared resolution and <40 mK thermal sensitivity for inspections of electrical systems and HVAC equipment, suspected moisture problems and building energy performance.
TC8650 Image Capture and Temperature Measurement
Choose the temperature range for the surface you're inspecting, then adjust zoom and distance correction as needed. The TC8650 stores images on the camera. Use USB-C to download them and recharge the battery.
- Inspect Without a Phone — Capture, view and save thermal images on the camera. Review them on the 2.8 in screen without a separate phone or app.
- Select the Measurement Range — Choose the normal range of -4 to 302°F (-20 to 150°C) or the high range of 212 to 1,022°F (100 to 550°C). Measurement accuracy is ±2°C or ±2% of reading, whichever is larger.
- Save Inspection Images — Save thermal images to 512 MB of onboard storage. Turn on auto-save to save every photo, then download images over USB-C for viewing away from the camera.
- Adjust the View — Choose 1x, 2x or 4x zoom and set distance correction up to 5 m. The infrared field of view is 40° x 30°.
- Mount and Recharge the Camera — The 1/4-20 UNC screw hole accepts a tripod mount. Charge the built-in 2,900 mAh battery over USB-C, the same connection used for file transfer.
TC8650 Use in Restoration and Facility Maintenance
Restoration contractors can use the TC8650 thermal imaging camera to examine surface-temperature patterns during moisture and leak detection work. It does not measure moisture content. Building inspectors can examine these patterns during home energy audits, though the camera cannot see through glass, walls or water. HVAC technicians can check the surface temperatures of accessible equipment in homes, offices and commercial facilities. Facility maintenance teams can also save images during electrical inspections and preventive maintenance to keep a thermal record of the surfaces examined.
