Orion 940 Moisture Data Collection for Floors and Lumber Loads

Orion 940 pinless wood moisture meter saves up to 100 readings and shows the maximum, minimum and average on its screen. Choose between scan depths of 0.25 in and 0.75 in for thin or thick wood. It reads without pins and needs no correction for wood or room temperature.

Orion 940 Memory, Statistics and Dual Scan Depth

Use manual collection to save readings one at a time, or automatic collection to log readings as you scan boards. The statistics update as you go. The meter operates between 32°F and 110°F (0°C to 43°C) and turns off after 60 seconds idle.

• Stored Readings — 100 saved readings, with max, min and average shown on the meter.
• Data Collection — manual or automatic collection, with each reading scanning a 2 x 2.5 inch patch of wood.
• Scan Depth — shallow mode reads to 0.25 in (6.4 mm) for thin stock; deep mode reads to 0.75 in (19 mm) for solid boards.
• Hold Button and Backlit Display — freeze a value with the hold button. The adjustable backlit display works in wood and relative modes.
• Field Calibration — the kit includes a paired On-Demand Calibrator for field calibration.
• Relative Mode — read drywall, plywood, OSB and MDF on a 0-100 scale. Wood readings need no temperature correction.

Flooring contractors can use the Orion 940 pinless wood moisture meter to check a hardwood delivery and review the high, low and average before installation. In woodworking shops, shallow and deep modes accommodate thin panels and thick slabs. Building inspectors and restoration contractors can save readings room by room, then switch to relative mode for drywall and subfloor panels. Facility maintenance teams can check wood trim or doors in schools and offices and store readings without marking the surface. The foam-lined case holds a species settings booklet and a common flooring materials reference card for woods from 0.20 to 1.0 SG.
