Infrared thermometer readings let you compare a concrete slab's surface temperature with the limits in flooring, adhesive or coating specs. This thermometer has a pistol-style grip and measures without contact at varying work distances. Use it alongside the Rapid RH test to assess slab readiness.
Infrared Thermometer Range and Response
The temperature range is -25.6 to 707 °F (-32 to 375 °C), with emissivity preset at 0.95.
- Distance-to-Spot Ratio — 12:1, with no contact with the surface.
- Accuracy and Repeatability — accuracy is ±2% of reading; repeatability is ±1% of reading or ±2 °F (1 °C), whichever is greater.
- Response Time — ≤500 ms.
- Battery — runs on a 9V battery.
Infrared Thermometer Applications in Flooring and Coatings
Flooring installers use an infrared thermometer to check slab surface temperature before spreading adhesive in offices, schools and retail spaces. On warehouse and garage floors, coating contractors compare readings with the coating maker's temperature limits. Facility managers overseeing a floor replacement can use these readings alongside Rapid RH results to assess slab readiness.
