AllerAir replacement filters for AirMedic Pro 6 and Salon Pro 6 purifiers

Every AllerAir purifier is a three-stage machine, and all three stages are consumable. The pre-filter catches dust and hair, the activated carbon bed adsorbs gases and odours, and a gasket set seals the stack so none of the air gets around the media. This page carries the replacement parts for the AirMedic Pro 6, Pro 6 Plus, Pro 6 HD, Pro 6 Ultra and Salon Pro 6 Ultra. Order against the part number printed on the filter you are pulling out, because AllerAir builds the Pro 6 line in several bed depths and diameters.

Which AllerAir filter fits your machine

Carbon canisters are model-specific. The Pro 6 takes a 2.5 in bed, the Pro 6 Plus a 3 in bed, the Pro 6 HD a 3.5 in bed and the Pro 6 Ultra a 5 in bed, and a canister cut for a different depth will not seal against the cabinet. Pre-filters split into two families instead: the A6FMP012 packs serve the Pro 6, Plus and HD, while the A6FMP1211 packs serve the Pro 6 Ultra and Salon Pro 6 Ultra. The AM000926 gasket set is the one part that fits the whole line, which makes it easy to stock for a mixed fleet.

Carbon, pre-filter and gasket service intervals

Pre-filters are replaced every two to three months, sooner in dusty rooms, and they are the part that protects the two expensive ones behind them. Carbon runs three to five years under normal loading and considerably less under heavy solvent or smoke exposure. Gaskets are changed every six months or at any filter change, because they take a permanent set once compressed and a reused gasket rarely reseals. Replace carbon on schedule rather than waiting for odours to return: by the time a smell breaks through the bed, it has been saturated for some time. Vocarb and Exec carbon: choosing the right blend

Both blends drop into the same cabinet, so the choice is about what you are removing rather than which machine you own. Exec is the general-purpose fill for offices, homes and light commercial rooms and handles everyday gases and odours. Vocarb is the chemical-duty blend, specified where VOCs, solvent fumes or smoke are the actual problem — salons, dental operatories, print rooms, labs and remediation work. Carbon weight is the number that governs how long a canister lasts before it saturates, and it climbs with bed depth, from 17 lb in the shallowest Exec bed to 33 lb in the deepest. How do I know which AllerAir carbon filter my purifier takes?
Carbon canisters are sized by bed depth, and depth is set by the model: 2.5 in on the AirMedic Pro 6, 3 in on the Pro 6 Plus, 3.5 in on the Pro 6 HD and 5 in on the Pro 6 Ultra. The safest method is to read the part number printed on the canister you are replacing, because the filters look nearly identical in photographs and a canister cut for the wrong depth will not seal against the cabinet.
What is the difference between Vocarb and Exec carbon?
Exec is the general-purpose blend for homes, offices and light commercial rooms, and it handles everyday gases and odours. Vocarb is a chemical-duty blend specified where VOCs, smoke or solvent fumes are the actual problem, such as salons, dental operatories, print rooms and remediation sites. Both fit the same cabinet, so the decision is about what you need removed, not about which machine you own.
How often should AllerAir filters be replaced?

Do pre-filters fit across the whole Pro 6 range?
No, there are two families. The A6FMP012 packs fit the AirMedic Pro 6, Pro 6 Plus and Pro 6 HD. The A6FMP1211 packs fit the Pro 6 Ultra and Salon Pro 6 Ultra. Pack size does not change fitment, so a 4-pack and a 24-pack of the same base part fit the same machines. If you run a mixed fleet, order against the base part number rather than the model family name.
Why does the gasket set matter?
The gasket forces every cubic foot of air through the filters instead of around them. When it flattens or splits, part of the airflow bypasses the carbon and HEPA and returns to the room untreated, and the machine gives no obvious symptom while it happens. That makes a worn gasket the most commonly missed fault on these units. The AM000926 set fits the full Pro 6 line.

Brio Air Filtration = Game Changer

Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.

It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.

An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.

We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides,allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.

A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
