The A5FCW250 is the replacement carbon canister for the AllerAir AirMedic Pro 5 Ultra. It holds 30 lb of activated carbon in a 5 in bed. Carbon is the part of the machine that wears out invisibly: the fan keeps moving air long after the bed has stopped pulling chemicals out of it, and the first thing most people notice is odour returning between service intervals.
How long does an AllerAir carbon filter last?
AllerAir recommends inspecting and replacing the carbon approximately every 12 to 18 months, and sooner where pollutant exposure is heavy. Salons, dental operatories, print rooms, labs and remediation jobs saturate a bed considerably faster than an office does.
What the Vocarb bed is built for
- 30 lb of carbon — media volume sets the change interval; a bigger bed runs longer at the same chemical load
- 5 in bed depth — deeper beds hold air in contact with the carbon longer, which is what actually drives adsorption
- Vocarb blend — a chemical-duty fill for solvents, VOCs and process fumes rather than dust

Service notes
Change carbon on a schedule rather than on smell. By the time odour breaks through, the bed has been saturated for some time and the machine has been running as an expensive fan. Replace the pre-filter at every carbon change so dust never reaches the carbon face, and check the gasket set while the cabinet is open, since a leaking seal lets air bypass the bed.
