Delfin Industrial Pro HEPA Vacuums for Regulated Dust
What Makes the Delfin Pro HEPA Line a True HEPA Vacuum
A vacuum built around a certified filter is a different machine from one that had a HEPA filter dropped into it, and on regulated work that distinction is what a specifier looks for first. Delfin states that every unit in the Pro HEPA line carries a HEPA filter individually tested and certified at a minimum efficiency of 99.97% at 0.3 microns, with pre-filtration staged ahead of it so the certified element is the last barrier rather than the first. On the HV103 backpack Delfin lists a cloth pre-filter and a disposable paper bag ahead of the HEPA element; across the corded Pro HEPA units it describes the assembly as a Dacron filter bag, a spacer sleeve and a polyester pre-filter. Delfin also lists the HV103 as approved under EPA RRP rules for removal of lead-based paint particles. Choosing Between the HV103, HV105 and HV107
The three Delfin models listed here split by how the operator has to move and what ends up in the tank. The HV103 Pro HEPA 6EB is a 10.5 lb backpack with a 6-quart bag, 104 CFM and a padded harness, built for stairwells, ledges and overhead work where a wheeled tank cannot follow. The HV105 Pro HEPA 10 steps up to a 2 HP two-stage bypass motor, 110 CFM and a 10-gallon tank on casters, with a 50-foot cord and a tool outlet on the motorhead for dust capture at a sander or grinder. It is dry pick-up only. The HV107 Pro HEPA 20 runs the same motor into a 20-gallon rotationally molded tank and adds wet pick-up, a drain hose and an automatic liquid shut-off. OSHA's respirable crystalline silica standard for construction requires a written exposure control plan that names each task and the controls used on it, so match the machine to that plan rather than to airflow alone.

How Delfin Builds and Warranties These Machines
Delfin was founded in 1991 by Antonino Siclari and has grown its catalog past 140 models across portable units, dust collectors, centralized systems and pneumatic conveyors. The company states that every Delfin vacuum is built in Italy using components made in Italy and Germany, through a production process certified to ISO 9001 by DNV, and that each industrial system carries a two-year warranty against defective construction. Delfin markets the Pro HEPA range specifically for professional cleaning, separately from its plant and process equipment. All three machines run on standard 115 V single-phase power and take the 1.5-inch tools common across the commercial market, so wands, brushes and floor tools are easy to replace.

Brio Air Filtration = Game Changer
Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides,allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
