Abatement Technologies PRED-750 Air Scrubber — 750 CFM Negative Air Machine for Mold, Asbestos, and Lead Containment
The Abatement Technologies PRED-750 (also marketed as the Predator 750) moves 750 CFM through a true HEPA filter rated 99.97% at 0.3 microns. Variable speed control lets you adjust airflow to establish and maintain negative pressure without over-pressurizing the containment zone or creating noise levels that violate healthcare facility policies. The stackable design stores and transports multiple units without additional racks, making the PRED-750 a workhorse for restoration, abatement, and infection-control crews running multiple zones at once.
PRED-750 Airflow and Filtration Specs for Regulated Applications
750 CFM at full speed — right-sized for single rooms, residential containment zones, and small commercial spaces; provides 6+ air changes per hour in a 1,500 sq. ft. space at 8-foot ceilings.
HEPA 99.97% at 0.3 microns — captures mold spores (2–20 microns), asbestos fibers (0.7–90 microns), and lead dust particles; satisfies EPA and OSHA requirements for regulated abatement work.
Variable speed control — reduces to a lower CFM setting for noise-sensitive healthcare environments while maintaining negative pressure differential; restores to full speed when workers leave the space.
Stackable, compact footprint — stack up to 3 units per van layer; compact dimensions move through standard residential doorways without disassembly.
Where the PRED-750 Is Deployed
Mold remediation contractors use the PRED-750 as the primary negative-air machine in residential containment zones covering single bedrooms, bathrooms, and crawlspace work areas. Healthcare renovation crews deploy pairs of PRED-750s in ICRA Category II projects adjacent to patient corridors to maintain negative pressure and document HEPA filtration during construction. Water-damage restorers use it during active structural drying to prevent microbial amplification and cross-contamination of unaffected areas. Lead and asbestos abatement contractors operating in pre-1980 residential structures use it to establish regulated negative-pressure work areas required by EPA RRP and NESHAP rules.

PRED-750 vs PRED-1200: Which Predator Air Scrubber Should You Choose?
The PRED-750 and the PRED-1200 share the same 4-stage HEPA filtration architecture and stackable cabinet, but cover different jobsite scopes. The PRED-750 (200–750 CFM, 2.5 amps) is the right tool for residential containment zones, single-room mold remediation, healthcare renovation cells, and any project where you want to daisy-chain multiple units on one 15-amp circuit. The PRED-1200 (300–900 CFM, 3.5 amps) handles larger commercial losses, multi-room category 3 water restoration, and warehouse-scale construction dust control where higher per-unit airflow reduces the total machine count.

Daisy-Chaining PRED-750 Units on a Single Circuit
The PRED-750 draws 2.5 amps or less at full speed, which means up to five units can be daisy-chained on one standard 15-amp circuit using the integrated power-pass-through outlet. This is the practical advantage on residential mold remediation jobs where breaker panels are limited and tripped breakers cost containment integrity. Set each unit's variable-speed dial to match the room volume — typical configurations run two units on low (200 CFM) per bedroom-sized containment for negative pressure, freeing the remaining capacity for active scrubbing zones. Always confirm circuit load with a clamp meter before chaining; older homes with shared circuits may not tolerate the rated draw.
PRED-750 Filter Replacement Schedule and SKUs
The PRED-750 uses a 4-stage filter stack: pre-filter, secondary filter, ASHRAE 95% panel filter, and a true HEPA terminal filter. Pre-filters and secondary filters are consumables — replace them every 40–80 operating hours on dust-heavy jobs (drywall sanding, demolition cleanup) or every 2–3 weeks of typical mold remediation work. The ASHRAE filter typically lasts 3–6 months. The HEPA filter is rated 99.97% at 0.3 microns and should be replaced annually or sooner if pressure differential drops by 25% from baseline. Always pre-filter aggressively in dirty environments — pre-filter cost is negligible compared to a $300+ HEPA filter loaded with construction dust.

What Xactimate code applies to the PRED750 for insurance billing?
The PREDATOR 750 is billed under Xactimate code AQRS, which covers air quality remediation scrubbers. This code applies to air scrubbers and negative-air machines used in mold remediation, water damage restoration, and similar insurance-billable restoration projects.
How many air changes per hour does the PRED750 provide?
At 750 CFM, the PRED750 provides approximately 6 air changes per hour in a 1,500 sq. ft. space with 8-foot ceilings (12,000 cubic feet). IICRC S520 mold remediation guidelines call for a minimum of 4 air changes per hour in containment zones.
What particle sizes does the HEPA filter capture?
The PRED750 uses a true HEPA filter rated at 99.97% efficiency at 0.3 microns — the most penetrating particle size. It captures mold spores (typically 2–20 microns), asbestos fibers, lead dust, and fine construction particulates well above the 99.97% threshold.
Can the PRED750 be stacked in a van or storage area?
Yes. The PRED750 is designed with a stackable form factor. Multiple units stack stably without additional racks or brackets, maximizing van capacity on multi-unit mold remediation and restoration jobs.
Does the PRED750 work as both a negative-air machine and an air scrubber?
Yes. In negative-air mode, the exhaust is ducted outside the containment zone to depressurize the work area. In air-scrubber mode, the filtered air is exhausted back into the space to reduce ambient particulate levels. Both configurations use the same HEPA filter system.

Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
