CA-3504-1MAK Gas Pressure Washer — CA Aluminum Series 3500 PSI with Kohler CH440
The CA-3504-1MAK produces 3500 PSI at 3.5 GPM — 12,250 cleaning units — from a 429cc Kohler CH440 OHV engine paired with an AR crankshaft pump on Mi-T-M's 125-lb aluminum frame. The CH440 is Kohler's largest single-cylinder commercial engine, providing the displacement reserve needed to maintain rated 3500 PSI / 3.5 GPM output under sustained load in hot ambient conditions. All three CA-3504 standard variants — Honda GX390 (1MAH), Kohler CH440 (1MAK), Mi-T-M OHV (1MAM) — produce the same output from the same frame. The 1MAK is the choice for operations with established Kohler dealer relationships or with the CH440 already in their equipment fleet. ETL listed for US commercial use.
CA-3504-1MAK Engine Specifications and Aluminum Frame
The Kohler CH440 displaces 429cc — notably larger than the Honda GX390's 389cc — which provides additional torque reserve at the high end of the pressure range. At 12,250 CU the CA-3504 handles work that overtaxes the CA-3003: removing heavy equipment fouling in single passes, stripping loose coatings from masonry, and washing large commercial vehicle fleets efficiently. The 125-lb aluminum frame with 13-in flat-free tires handles rough job-site terrain that can stop smaller-wheeled units.
3500 PSI at 3.5 GPM (12,250 CU) — 36% more cleaning power than the CA-3003; single-pass effectiveness on heavy equipment fouling
AR crankshaft pump, forged brass manifold, thermal relief valve — AR rated for sustained 3500 PSI; brass handles mineral-rich water; thermal valve protects pump seals
125-lb corrosion-resistant aluminum frame, 13-in flat-free tires — lighter than steel-frame equivalents; larger tires handle rough terrain better than the 10-in tires on lower CA models
ETL listed, patented vibration isolation plate — ETL certification for commercial procurement; vibration plate extends pump seal life
50-ft × 3/8-in hose, 48-in lance — 48-in reach for elevated surfaces and equipment; CX-0098 External Bypass available separately
CA-3504-1MAK Applications and Environments
Operations running Kohler-powered generators, line stripers, or floor sweepers add the CA-3504-1MAK to standardize their CH440 parts shelf across equipment categories. Fleet maintenance departments that service vehicles with heavy road salt deposits, mud, and industrial coating residue rely on the 12,250 CU output for single-shift completion of washing cycles. Construction firms use it for concrete form stripping and equipment prep. Agricultural operations apply it to post-harvest equipment cleaning where caked grain, silage, and fertilizer residue require sustained high-pressure output. Industrial plants use it for machinery washdown between production cycles.
CA-3504-1MAK GPM, PSI, and Nozzle Configuration
Rated at 3.5 GPM at 3500 PSI (12,250 cleaning units) at rated flow. Includes quick-connect nozzles in 0°, 15°, and 25° patterns; 50-ft × 3/8-in non-marking high-pressure hose; 48-in lance with insulated trigger gun. Cold water only. 49-state engine — not for sale in California.

How does the Kohler CH440 (429cc) compare to the Honda GX390 (389cc) on the CA-3504?
Both engines drive the same AR pump to 3500 PSI / 3.5 GPM (12,250 CU). The CH440's 429cc displacement is 10% larger than the GX390's 389cc, providing additional torque reserve under sustained heavy load or in high ambient temperatures. Choose based on your preferred service network: CH440 for Kohler dealer preference, GX390 for Honda dealer preference.
What is the cleaning unit output of the CA-3504-1MAK?
The CA-3504-1MAK produces 3500 × 3.5 = 12,250 cleaning units. This is 36% more than the CA-3003 series (9,000 CU), which translates to single-pass effectiveness on heavily fouled surfaces that required multiple passes from the CA-3003.
Is the CA-3504-1MAK ETL listed?
Yes. The CA-3504-1MAK carries ETL listing from Intertek, confirming it meets applicable US safety standards. ETL listing is accepted by local inspection authorities and is equivalent in standing to UL listing for commercial equipment procurement.
What bypass system is available for the CA-3504-1MAK?
The CX-0098 External Bypass System is available for the CA-3504 frame and must be ordered with the unit. It allows additional water flow through the AR pump during trigger-closed idle periods, preventing heat build-up that can damage pump seals at sustained 3500 PSI operating pressure.
Can the CA-3504-1MAK be sold in California?
No. The 429cc Kohler CH440 is a 49-state engine that does not comply with California CARB small engine emissions regulations. The CA-3504-1MAK cannot be sold or registered for use in California.
Why does the CA-3504 frame use 13-in tires instead of 10-in?
The larger 13-in flat-free tires are proportionally matched to the heavier 125-lb frame weight and the rougher terrain that CA-3504 users typically encounter at construction sites and industrial facilities. The larger wheel diameter provides better ground clearance and reduces resistance over gravel, pavement cracks, and thresholds compared to the 10-in tires on the lighter CA-2403 through CA-3003 models.

Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
