Controlled burnishing with the DC-20-1100

The Mercury DC-20-1100 gives operators more control over heat and finish response. Its 1100 RPM pad speed is the slowest in Mercury’s Ultra DC line. It suits softer finishes, newly applied coatings, and floors prone to scorching or swirl marks under faster burnishers. The lower speed develops gloss with less risk of overheating sensitive finish.

DC-20-1100 floor finish control

A 1.5 HP D/C rectified motor drives the 20" pad at 1100 RPM. This is useful for the first burnish over a fresh coat, before the finish has fully settled. The polished aluminum chassis is made for regular commercial use. 6" non-marking operating wheels prevent wheel marks. The DC-20-1100 has no front caster assembly.

  • Lower heat: 1100 RPM limits heat buildup compared with faster Ultra DC machines.
  • Finish care: Suitable for soft coatings, fresh finish, and floors prone to scorching or swirling.
  • Motor: The 1.5 HP D/C rectified motor draws 15 Amps.
  • Chassis: Polished aluminum, the same chassis used across the 20" Ultra DC range.
  • Wheels: 6" non-marking operating wheels and 4" transport wheels.
  • Cord: A 50 ft, 14/3-gauge power cord.
  • Warranty: 5 years on motor and chassis and 1 year labor. Burnishing pad is not included.

DC-20-1100 applications

The DC-20-1100 is intended for finished floors in schools, hospitals, grocery stores, retail facilities, institutional buildings, and other commercial properties. It also suits contractors handling finishes with different hardness or sensitivity. Choose it after recoating or where faster burnishers have caused heat damage. Its caster-free layout is familiar to crews using standard high-speed machines. The machine has made-in-USA construction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Ultra DC speed should I choose?
Choose the 1100 RPM model when you want the least heat transferred into softer or freshly applied floor finishes. Mercury also offers Ultra DC burnishers at 1170, 1500, and 2000 RPM for applications suited to faster pad speeds.
What pad should I use with the DC-20-1100?
Use a 20-inch burnishing pad selected for your floor finish and desired gloss. Follow the finish and pad manufacturers’ compatibility recommendations, especially on softer or freshly applied coatings.
What is included with the burnisher?
The burnisher includes a polished aluminum chassis, 1.5 HP D/C rectified motor, 6-inch operating wheels, 4-inch transport wheels, and a 50-foot 14/3 power cord. The pad is not included, and this model does not have a front caster assembly.
How does the 1100 RPM model differ from the 1500 and 2000 RPM models?
The 1100 RPM model runs slower, putting less heat into the finish than the 1500 and 2000 RPM models. It is the better choice for softer or freshly applied coatings, while the faster models suit applications that call for higher pad speed; the front caster assembly is found only on the 2000 RPM models.
