When the standard Pro 6's 17 lbs of carbon isn't enough, the HD adds a full 3.5"-deep carbon bed (26–29 lbs, 3,500 acres of surface area) and upgrades HEPA to Super HEPA at 99.99% efficiency at 0.1 microns. That's 50% more carbon capacity and particle capture 3x finer than standard HEPA — for environments where chemical removal is mission-critical rather than incidental. Same 560 CFM motor, same 57-lb footprint, significantly more filtration depth.

The HD designation exists for one reason: more carbon, deeper bed, longer contact time with contaminated air. The 3,500-acre carbon surface area means each pass through the filter has more opportunity to adsorb chemical molecules before air exits the unit.

AirMedic Pro 6 HD Applications and Environments

Industrial environments with active chemical exposure — manufacturing facilities using solvents, printing operations, laboratories with reagent off-gassing — are the primary use case for the HD. Medical facilities where anesthetic gases, sterilant fumes, and disinfectant VOCs require aggressive continuous filtration benefit from the deeper carbon bed's higher adsorption capacity. MCS individuals with severe sensitivities who found the standard Pro 6 insufficient between filter changes typically step up to the HD for longer service intervals and better performance at the same airflow. New construction off-gassing applications where multiple materials are releasing simultaneously benefit from the larger chemical load capacity.

AirMedic Pro 6 HD CADR Rating and Filter Stack

The HD uses the same three-stage filtration architecture as the standard Pro 6 — carbon pre-filter, main carbon bed, Super HEPA — but with a deeper main bed and higher-grade HEPA media. CSA/UL certified for occupied spaces. Available in Black, Sandstone, and White. If your space is under 600 sq ft and chemical loads are moderate, the standard Pro 6 at 17 lbs may meet your needs at lower filter replacement cost; the HD is for environments where you are running the unit continuously under high chemical load.
