Do Your Jobs Require Hot Water or Cold Water Extraction?
Hot water extraction reaches water temperatures between 150 and 210 degrees Fahrenheit at the nozzle. Heat breaks down oily soils and protein-based stains that cold water agitates but does not dissolve. The IICRC S100 standard for professional textile floor covering cleaning recommends hot water extraction as the primary deep-cleaning method for commercial carpet. Cold water extractors cost less upfront and still handle routine soil removal in office corridors. Namco Manufacturing and Sandia both produce portable hot water extractors sized for hotel room turnover and office suites, where operators move between rooms without returning to a central machine. Nacecare's extraction line covers self-contained units that heat water internally, eliminating the need for a separate boiler or truck-mount.
What Tank Capacity Do You Need for High-Volume Sites?
A portable extractor with a 12-gallon clean tank runs roughly 1,200 to 1,500 square feet before refilling, depending on solution flow rate. Recovery tank size must match or exceed the clean tank to avoid stopping mid-room. Restoration contractors pulling water from saturated carpet after a pipe burst need a high-vacuum recovery setup, not a standard cleaning extractor. Sandia's portable extractors include models with dual 500 PSI pump configurations that increase solution penetration in heavily soiled commercial carpet. The PSI rating affects how deeply solution reaches the backing, which matters in hotels where carpet pads retain soil between cycles. For multi-floor office buildings, a self-contained unit on a cart reduces stairwell trips and keeps equipment centered on the floor being cleaned.
Choosing the Right Carpet Extractor for Your Sites
- Set PSI by substrate: Glue-down commercial carpet in offices and hotels cleans well at 120 to 160 PSI. Restoration extraction, grout work, and heavy traffic lanes call for 500 PSI or more.
- Match tank size to square footage: A 12-gallon clean tank covers roughly 1,200 to 1,500 sq ft per fill. Recovery capacity should equal or exceed the clean tank so you are not stopping mid-room.
- Choose heated or non-heated: In-line heaters hold 150 to 210°F at the nozzle, which dissolves oily and protein soils. Cold water units cost less and still handle routine office soil.
- Pick the form factor for the route: Self-contained walk-behinds cover open floor fastest. Portables on a cart win on hotel room turnover and in stairwell buildings.
- Verify vacuum lift for wet recovery: Routine cleaning runs fine on 100 to 150 inches of lift. Pulling standing water out of saturated pad needs a dedicated flood extraction setup instead.

What PSI Do You Need for Commercial Carpet Extraction?
Glue-down commercial carpet in offices, hotels, and retail cleans well at 120 to 160 PSI. Restoration extraction, tile and grout work, and heavily soiled traffic lanes call for 500 PSI or more.
Pressure controls how far solution travels into the carpet backing, and more is not automatically better. A pump that pushes past what the recovery vacuum can pull back leaves moisture sitting in the pad. That stretches drying time and can leave residue that attracts soil faster than before the clean. Carpet still damp after 24 hours turns into a microbial problem, which is why the EPA's guidance on moisture control matters as much here as it does after a flood. Sandia builds extractors across the 100 to 1,200 PSI range, and adjustable-pressure models let one machine cover nightly maintenance and periodic restorative work. A hotel with carpeted guest rooms and a tiled lobby gets more out of an adjustable pump than a fixed high-pressure unit.

This vacuum is very light and powerful
Gets the job done without hassle. This vacuum is powerful and reliable for everyday cleaning. Definitely recommend it.
we have three cats, and this purifier has done wonders in removing pet odors and dander
Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
this bedroom purifier has transformed my sleep quality. the air is so much fresher and cleaner worth every penny
Amazing customer service and reliable products
very customer friendly and professional design.
perfect for maneuvering in tight areas the HEPA filter is a huge bonus
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
This vacuum has exceeded my expectations. It's super powerful and handles daily cleaning with ease. I recommend it to everyone.
really effective in sweeping up all kinds of debris from our warehouse floor
