Flooring moisture test kit WFP400+ Rapid RH L6 pairs the Orion 950 pinless wood moisture meter with L6 Smart Sensors for in-situ concrete slab RH testing. Check the boards and the slab before laying wood over concrete. Two Smart Logger V2 recorders log room temperature and humidity while you work.
WFP400+ Rapid RH L6 Wood and Slab Testing
The Orion 950 measures moisture in the wood flooring. The Total Reader reads concrete relative humidity and temperature from installed L6 Smart Sensors, so you can keep separate records for the flooring and the slab beneath it.
- Check Wood Without Pinholes — The Orion 950 pinless sensor measures at 0.25 in or 0.75 in depth. Its wood moisture range is 4.0% to 32.0%, with slight variation depending on the species setting.
- Assess Wood Acclimation Conditions — The Orion 950 automatically calculates equilibrium moisture content using its built-in temperature and humidity sensor. It also calculates dew point and grains per pound.
- Test the Concrete Slab — Use Rapid RH L6 for ASTM F2170 in-situ slab RH testing. After 24 hours of sensor acclimation, the Total Reader takes a reading on contact with the sensor.
- Keep Wood and Slab Records — Send Orion 950 readings over Bluetooth to FloorSmart or Woodshop MC. The Total Reader connects to DataMaster L6 to store concrete readings and generate reports.
- Track Room Conditions — The included Smart Logger V2 recorders log temperature and relative humidity. Each stores up to 16,384 measurements and sends readings over Bluetooth to Wagner Sentry.
- Calibrate the Wood Meter in the Field — Use the included On-Demand Calibrator for the Orion 950. Each L6 Smart Sensor has its own factory calibration, so the Total Reader does not need to be sent out for recalibration.
WFP400+ Rapid RH L6 Uses for Flooring Contractors
Use this flooring moisture test kit when installing wood flooring over concrete in homes, offices, and retail spaces. Record Orion 950 wood moisture readings and L6 slab RH results, then compare them with the flooring system's installation requirements. Restoration contractors and building inspectors can use the Orion 950's relative mode for comparative checks of plywood, OSB, MDF, and drywall. Woodworkers and facility managers can use its pinless moisture measurement and automatic EMC calculation to check wood materials.
