+1 (978) 295-7538C555 Preliminary Slab Testing and Sensor Placement
Concrete moisture meter readings from the Wagner Meters C555 help you locate problem areas before placing Rapid RH L6 Smart Sensors. The handheld instrument takes non-destructive preliminary readings 0.5 in into smooth, firm concrete. Flooring installers and concrete contractors can compare readings across a slab during an initial moisture survey. Built-in sensors measure ambient temperature, relative humidity and dew point, so you can check surrounding conditions while scanning the floor.
C555 Slab Scanning and Field Calibration
The C555 takes preliminary slab measurements and ambient readings. Its built-in ambient sensors and included paired On-Demand Calibrator cover the test outlined in ASTM F2659. The calibrator lets you calibrate the meter in the field, and the meter comes with a 1-year warranty.
- Locate areas for further testing — Scan 0.5 in into the slab to find moisture problem areas and decide where to place Rapid RH L6 Smart Sensors.
- Read the concrete scale correctly — The concrete moisture range is 0.1 to 6.9 on a concrete scale. These readings are not percentages of moisture content.
- Keep a reading visible — The press-to-hold button locks the measurement on screen while you record it.
- Flag high readings audibly — Set the programmable high-moisture alarm and adjust its volume to hear alerts as you check the floor.
- Calibrate in the field — Use the paired On-Demand Calibrator supplied with the kit to calibrate the C555 moisture meter.
- Check concrete-like materials — Select relative measurement mode to check materials such as concrete block on a 0-100 scale.
C555 Applications for Flooring and Building Assessments
Flooring installers can use this concrete moisture meter to survey smooth, firm concrete, gypsum cement and other floor slabs and screeds before choosing locations for in-situ sensors. On jobs in offices, schools or retail facilities, concrete and flooring contractors can use the readings to identify areas that need further testing. Restoration contractors and building inspectors can record ambient temperature, relative humidity and dew point alongside slab readings during building assessments. Facility managers can hold readings on screen while taking notes. The C555 also works with the Wagner Meter Reach Extender accessory.
