Therma-Kleen Ultra 1300 Propane: 1300 PSI and 200,000 BTU/hr for Large-Scale Chemical-Free Cleaning
The TKULTRA1300 is Therma-Kleen's largest and most powerful propane-fired steam cleaner, combining a 200,000 BTU/hr LP gas burner with 1300 PSI (85 bar) output pressure and a maximum steam temperature of 350°F (176°C). Unlike electric steam cleaners that are limited by circuit capacity, the Ultra 1300 draws its thermal energy from propane — making it practical for outdoor jobsites, facilities without sufficient electrical service, and any large-scale application where runtime is unlimited by boiler tank size. Only a standard 115VAC outlet is needed for the electronic controls and ignition.
200,000 BTU Propane Burner, High-Pressure Output, and Built-In Safety Controls
200,000 BTU/hr LP gas burner delivers sustained high-temperature steam output regardless of ambient conditions
1300 PSI / 85 bar output pressure — more than 13× the pressure of the Therma-Steem #10 — for removing embedded grime, chewing gum, and industrial residue from hard surfaces
350°F / 176°C maximum steam temperature with 2.2 GPM low-water-volume output
Electronic pilot ignition for reliable, consistent starts in field conditions
High-temperature limit switch, pressure relief valve, and flow switch for safe operation
Powder-coated painted blue steel body with aluminum coils; 195 lbs on a wheeled frame
50-foot high-pressure steam hose and 4-foot wand with trigger gun included
Outdoor Jobsites, Large Facilities, and Applications That Exceed Electric Capacity
The Ultra 1300 is the right tool when an electric steam cleaner simply cannot deliver sufficient pressure or runtime. Municipal maintenance crews use it for gum and graffiti removal from sidewalks, transit stations, and public plazas — the 1300 PSI cuts through vulcanized gum in seconds without solvents. Industrial facilities use it to clean large machinery, loading docks, parking structures, and outdoor equipment pads where electrical access is limited. Food processing plants clean exterior receiving areas and waste handling equipment between shifts. Because the propane tank (standard 20 lb or larger LP cylinder, not included) determines runtime rather than a boiler tank, operators can work continuously on the largest sites. The combination of high pressure and 350°F steam temperature makes chemical additives optional rather than required — effective for facilities pursuing green certification or zero-discharge compliance.
Propane Operation, Steam Output, and What Ships in the Box
The TKULTRA1300 connects to standard LP gas cylinders via a quick-connect fitting and main propane regulator included with the unit. The 200,000 BTU/hr burner heats aluminum coils to produce continuous high-pressure steam; water is supplied via garden hose connection at 2.2 GPM flow rate. For reference, 200,000 BTU/hr propane consumption is approximately 2 lbs of LP gas per hour at full output — a 20 lb tank provides roughly 10 hours of continuous operation. Only 115VAC / 13 amps is required for the control panel and electronic ignition, so the machine can operate wherever a generator or standard outlet is available. The complete package includes one blast nozzle, one fuel pressure gauge, one LP gas quick connect, one main propane regulator, one 4-foot wand with trigger gun, and a 50-foot high-pressure steam hose. Optional accessories include a 100-foot steam hose, fan nozzle, heat deflector, additional wands, inline water softener, and a full LP regulator setup with quick connects.

Frequently Asked Questions
What propane tank size does the Ultra 1300 use?
The TKULTRA1300 connects to standard LP gas cylinders via the included quick-connect fitting and regulator. A 20 lb (standard barbecue) cylinder is compatible; at the 200,000 BTU/hr maximum burner output, a 20 lb tank provides approximately 10 hours of continuous operation. Larger bulk tanks can also be connected for extended commercial use.
Does the Ultra 1300 require electrical power?
Only for the control panel and electronic pilot ignition. The TKULTRA1300 requires 115 VAC at 13 amps (or 220 VAC at 7 amps) for controls — a standard outlet or portable generator is sufficient. All steam heat energy comes from the 200,000 BTU/hr LP gas burner, not from electricity.
What is the output pressure of the Ultra 1300?
The TKULTRA1300 delivers 1300 PSI (85 bar) at a water flow rate of 2.2 GPM and a maximum temperature of 350°F (176°C). This is a pressure washer-class output combined with steam heat — significantly higher than electric dry vapor steam cleaners like the Therma-Steem #10 (100 PSI) or Industrial 400 (180 PSI).
Can the Ultra 1300 be used indoors?
The TKULTRA1300 is capable of indoor use in well-ventilated areas, but LP gas combustion produces exhaust gases — adequate ventilation or exhaust extraction is required for enclosed spaces. It is most commonly deployed for outdoor applications, large open facilities, and covered industrial areas with sufficient air exchange.
What is the BTU rating of the Ultra 1300's burner?
The propane burner is rated at 200,000 BTU/hr, giving the Ultra 1300 substantially greater thermal capacity than electric models. This enables continuous high-pressure steam output without the heat recovery limitations inherent in electrically heated boilers.
What surfaces and applications is the Ultra 1300 designed for?
Ideal for large outdoor and semi-outdoor applications: gum and graffiti removal from concrete and pavers, industrial machinery cleaning, loading dock sanitation, parking structure maintenance, food processing exterior areas, and any site exceeding 1,000 square feet where continuous runtime is needed. The 1300 PSI pressure can also be used with chemical injection for tougher staining.
What does the Ultra 1300 ship with?
The package includes one blast nozzle, one fuel pressure gauge, one LP gas quick connect, one main propane regulator, one 4-foot wand with trigger gun, one 50-foot high-pressure steam hose, and an instructional manual and DVD. Propane tanks are not included and must be sourced separately.

Perfect vacuum cleaner
Perfect vacuum cleaner. Well made , goes around chair & table legs easily
Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
