Multi-Surface Cleaning in Hospitals, Schools, and Gyms
The PFMW14's four specialized brush set — hard floor, carpet, wood, and sport surface brushes — means the same machine services every floor type in a mixed-use facility without swapping machines or pads. The self-cleaning brush system eliminates the mess of saturated floor pads: operators engage the brush purge at the end of a run and the brushes flush clean without manual handling. One set of Multiwash brushes lasts as long as 100 traditional floor pads, significantly reducing consumable cost in high-frequency cleaning operations. At 69 dBA the PFMW14 runs in occupied classrooms, hospital patient wings, and occupied retail floors without triggering noise complaints — the LEED threshold for daytime cleaning is typically set at 70 dBA or below.
PFMW14 vs. PFMW18 — 14" vs. 18" Multiwash
The PFMW14 and PFMW18 are the same Multiwash platform at two cleaning widths. Both deliver 650 RPM, 69 dBA, 30% water/chemical reduction, and self-cleaning brushes with a 40 ft cord. The PFMW18 adds a 50% wider path (17" actual cleaning width) and covers 7,500 sq ft/hr — a 36% productivity improvement over the PFMW14's 5,500 sq ft/hr. In spaces with tight aisles, retail shelving, or narrow restroom corridors, the PFMW14's smaller 15" × 17" footprint is the right choice. For open hospital corridors, large school cafeterias, and gym floors, the PFMW18's higher throughput reduces cleaning time.

The PFMW14 cleans hard floors (tile, VCT, concrete), carpet, wood, and sports flooring using four specialized brush sets. Each brush type is optimized for its surface, allowing one machine to service all floor types in a mixed-use facility without swapping machines or floor pads.
How does the PFMW14 use less water and chemical than a standard scrubber?
The Multiwash low-moisture system applies solution directly into the brush zone at controlled volume — no flood-and-squeegee approach. This targeted application reduces water and chemical consumption by 30% compared to conventional disc-pad scrubbers that flood the floor broadly.
How long do the PFMW14 brushes last compared to floor pads?
One set of Multiwash cylindrical brushes lasts as long as 100 traditional floor pads according to Powr-Flite. The self-cleaning brush system also eliminates the labor of handling and disposing of saturated pads at the end of each shift.
What is the productivity rate and noise level of the PFMW14?
The PFMW14 covers 5,500 sq ft/hr with a 13" cleaning path at 69 dBA — below the 70 dBA LEED daytime cleaning threshold, qualifying it for use in occupied schools, hospitals, and retail environments during business hours.
How does the PFMW14 compare to the PFMW18?
Both are the same Multiwash platform with 650 RPM brushes, 69 dBA noise, and 30% water/chemical savings. The PFMW18 has a 17" cleaning width (vs. 13" on the PFMW14) and covers 7,500 sq ft/hr vs. 5,500 sq ft/hr — a 36% productivity increase. The PFMW14's smaller 15" × 17" footprint fits tight aisles and narrow corridors that the PFMW18 cannot navigate.

Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
