The Hawk Merlin 2-Speed XHD WD 17" (F71-17-01) is the 17-inch version of the Merlin XHD industrial platform: 1.5 HP DC rectified 2-speed motor, triple-planetary XHD 11:1 helical-cut gears, 80 lb weight kit, and the Wheels-Down floating head.
Dual-Speed DC Motor and WD Head Specs
- 1.5 HP DC rectified 2-speed, 8.5/9.1A
- 165/300 RPM, XHD 11:1 helical-cut gears — 165 RPM for stripping, heavy scrubbing, and diamond tooling; 300 RPM for spray buffing and finish restoration.
- WD floating head, 80 lb weight kit 80 lb weights increase downforce for diamond tooling and abrasive applications where machine weight alone is insufficient.
- 62–69 dB, GS42 compliant at both speeds — 62 dB at 165 RPM and 69 dB at 300 RPM.
