The HafcoVac EXLR is a 55-gallon stainless steel industrial vacuum powered entirely by compressed air — no electricity, no motors, no moving parts. The single Venturi air-driven system creates suction without electrical components, making it certified safe for hazardous, combustible, and classified environments. Stainless steel construction resists water, acids, alkaline solutions, and chlorine exposure.

Classified and Hazardous Environments
In locations where flammable dust, vapor, or combustible materials are present, electric vacuum motors create ignition risk through electrical arcing. An air-powered Venturi vacuum eliminates this risk entirely — there are no electrical components, no sparks, and no heat-generating motors. The HafcoVac EXLR is certified for use in classified hazardous environments where NEC Class I, II, or III standards apply. The stainless steel drum and body are compatible with the grounding and bonding requirements common in chemical plants, petrochemical facilities, pharmaceutical production, and grain handling operations. At 55 gallons, the drum handles large-volume material recovery with fewer dump cycles, reducing the number of times personnel need to interrupt work to empty the vessel.
Venturi Operation and What Ships
The single EXLR Venturi uses compressed air flow to create a low-pressure zone at the vacuum inlet — no impeller or motor is involved. Suction performance depends on your compressed air supply: verify that your facility's air supply meets the CFM and PSI requirements listed in the HafcoVac spec sheet for the EXLR system. The unit ships fully assembled and ready to connect. For higher CFM requirements or longer hose runs, consider the Dual EXLR configuration (30-gallon or 55-gallon options available separately).

What compressed air supply is required for the HafcoVac EXLR 55-gallon?
The EXLR uses a single Venturi system driven by compressed air. The required CFM and PSI from your air supply is specified in the HafcoVac EXLR technical data sheet. Contact HafcoVac or our team to confirm the air supply specifications before purchasing.
Is the HafcoVac EXLR certified for NEC hazardous locations?
The EXLR is explosion-proof certified for hazardous and combustible environments. For specific NEC classification (Class I, II, or III; Division 1 or 2) verification, request the HafcoVac certification documentation to confirm it meets your facility's compliance requirements.
Does the 55-gallon EXLR have any moving parts?
No. The Venturi air system creates suction without any motors, impellers, or mechanical moving parts. This eliminates the primary maintenance items that fail on electric vacuums — motor brushes, capacitors, and bearings — and removes electrical ignition risk entirely.
What is the difference between the 55-gallon EXLR and the 55-gallon Dual EXLR?
The EXLR uses a single Venturi and requires a lower CFM air supply. The Dual EXLR uses two Venturi units in parallel, requiring 185 CFM of compressed air but producing stronger suction for larger debris, longer hose runs, or higher-volume cleanup. Choose single EXLR for moderate demands; Dual EXLR for higher throughput requirements.
Can the stainless steel EXLR handle liquid pickup?
Yes. The stainless steel drum and Venturi system can recover both dry debris and liquids. For chemically reactive liquids, verify that the specific chemical is compatible with 304 or 316 stainless steel (depending on the drum specification) before use.

Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
