The 7-inch DustBuddie is the standard shroud for larger angle grinders doing surface prep. A floating head keeps the brush skirt on the slab as the surface changes, and the removable front edge lets the wheel run flush to a wall.
D1850 Head Design and Grinder Range
The floating head is what keeps capture rates up on an uneven pour.
- Patented floating head with brush skirt — follows the surface so the seal holds over high and low spots
- Removable front edge — grind flush against walls and into tight corners
- Fits most 6" to 9" angle grinders — collar range 1.8 to 3 inches, up to a 7" wheel
- High-strength polycarbonate — clear body keeps the wheel and work visible
- 1.81 lb — does not unbalance a one-handed grinder
- 1.25" port with 18" adapter hose and three spacing washers — spacers set the wheel at the right depth in the shroud
D1850 Applications and Environments
Concrete surface prep, coating and epoxy removal, and slab levelling are the core jobs; masonry crews use it for smoothing block and stone. Dustless specifies 25 CFM of vacuum per inch of wheel diameter for full capture, so a 7-inch wheel wants roughly 175 CFM behind it. It ships with the shroud, an 18" adapter hose, three spacing washers and a releasable tie, and it is designed to help contractors meet OSHA's respirable crystalline silica standard (29 CFR 1926.1153) when paired with an appropriately rated vacuum.
