The TurboMax II holds a residential or light commercial air system under negative pressure while registers are sealed and each branch is worked in turn. A 2 HP single-phase motor drives an 11 in backward-inclined wheel to 3000 CFM free air and 2700 CFM through the filter stack, and a soft-start inverter keeps the inrush off the building breaker. At 125 lbs on 12 in wheels, one person moves it between floors.
TurboMax II Airflow, Filtration, and Power
The point of a negative air machine is that nothing escapes into the house, so the filter train matters as much as the blower.
- 2700 CFM filtered — 3000 CFM free air at 5.0 in W.G. static pressure, enough to hold a residential trunk under suction while branches are opened one at a time
- Certified HEPA final stage — an 18 x 24 x 4.71 in element behind a disposable polyester pad and an electrostatic flex filter, so the HEPA is not consumed by bulk debris
- Soft-start inverter — the single-phase to 3-phase inverter ramps the motor instead of slamming a 15 A household circuit at startup
- 12 in inlet — accepts a 12 in collar with either a 12.5 ft heavy-duty hose or a 25 ft light-duty mylar hose depending on how far the machine parks from the plenum
- Instrumented panel — indicators, switches, and meters on one pluggable panel, so a filter or airflow problem shows up before the job is finished
- Rotation molded poly shell — survives daily loading and unloading without the dents a metal cabinet collects
- 125 lbs on 12 in wheels — two locking front swivel casters hold position on a sloped driveway
TurboMax II Applications and Environments
Duct cleaning contractors run the TurboMax II on single-family homes, townhouses, apartments, mobile homes, and small offices and clinics where the system is one or two air handlers rather than a rooftop unit. It pairs with the Cobra VII power brush system on jobs with heavier accumulation, where brushing releases what suction alone will not move, and with a fogger when the system is sanitized after cleaning. Give it a dedicated 115 V, 15 or 20 A line and connect the supplied 12 gauge 25 ft cord directly to the outlet rather than adding a lighter extension. It measures 22.5 in W x 31.5 in D x 55.5 in H and operates between 25 and 125 °F. Air-Care covers the machine for three years, with one year on the blower motor and power inverter.
