Newaire

Newaire hydroxyl generators treat odors, bacteria, mold spores, and VOCs using UVC photocatalysis, the only professional air treatment technology safe for occupied spaces. No evacuation required. Run them continuously while staff, patients, or guests are present. The HG1500 and HG2500 cover 1,500 and 2,500 sq ft respectively; the HO3-2500 adds an ozone mode for shock treatment when spaces are vacated.

Hydroxyl Generators for Occupied Spaces — Newaire HG1500 and HG2500

How Photocatalytic Oxidation Works Without Evacuating the Space

A hydroxyl generator does what ozone cannot: treat the air while people, animals, and plants remain in the space. Newaire's HG1500 and HG2500 use UVC photocatalysis — 254 nm germicidal light striking a titanium dioxide surface in the presence of ambient humidity — to produce hydroxyl radicals continuously. These radicals react with and break down VOCs, bacteria, mold spores, and odor compounds into CO₂ and water vapor. No ozone is produced. No evacuation protocol is needed. Restoration contractors run them on active job sites while crews work. Healthcare facilities deploy them in patient rooms and waiting areas for ongoing pathogen reduction. The CDC recognizes photocatalytic oxidation as effective against a broad range of airborne contaminants in occupied environments. The HO3-2500 adds a switchable ozone mode at 1,000 mg/hr for jobs that require shock treatment after the space is cleared.

Matching Coverage to Your Job: HG1500, HG2500, HO3-2500, and Plugin

The Newaire Plugin is the entry point for continuous low-level air treatment in spaces up to 500 sq ft: hotel rooms, storage units, small offices, and rental apartments between tenants. No filters, no maintenance schedule, no moving parts — plug it in and leave it. The HG1500 steps up to 1,500 sq ft for classrooms, medical exam rooms, and mid-size commercial spaces that need professional-grade hydroxyl treatment without any operational downtime. The HG2500 extends coverage to 2,500 sq ft for larger suites, open-plan offices, and active remediation sites. The HO3-2500 gives restoration contractors both modes in one unit: hydroxyl while the crew works, ozone at 1,000 mg/hr when the space is cleared for shock treatment. Two-year warranty on all HG units. Made in the USA by Queenaire Technologies.

Lamp Life, Filter Schedule, and Long-Term Operating Costs

Newaire HG units run on replaceable UVC lamps rated at 8,000 to 9,000 hours. At continuous operation, that's approximately one year before output degrades and the lamp needs replacing. Carbon filters — the stage that captures particulates before air reaches the UVC element — follow a separate replacement schedule based on the contamination level of the environment. Both are available as direct-replacement parts: the HG1500 Carbon Filter Replacement, HG1500 Light Replacement Kit, HG2500 Carbon Filter Replacement, and HG2500 Light Replacement Kit ship same-day. The HO3-2500 uses a separate Generator Replacement Kit for its ozone module. Budgeting one lamp and one filter per year per unit is standard for facilities running these at continuous duty. Units used in episodic treatment rather than continuous 24/7 operation will see lamp life extended proportionally.
