Choose the US Products Neptune 220 Contractor's Special

The US Products Neptune 220 Contractor's Special is available as the non-heated Neptune 220C or heated Neptune 220H. Both use the same operating platform, with 220 PSI pump pressure, 120" water lift, and 97 CFM from a single 3-stage vacuum motor. Each machine has 15-gallon solution and recovery tanks and measures 32" L x 23" W x 36" H. The package includes a 13" Trident wand and 15 ft hose set. Made in the USA by US Products, these machines are designed for contractors and facilities handling routine carpet-cleaning and restoration work.

Neptune 220C vs. Neptune 220H: non-heated or heated

Available electrical service will usually settle the choice. The non-heated Neptune 220C draws 15 amps through one 25 ft 12/3 cord, making it a practical option when crews cannot count on a 20-amp circuit. The heated Neptune 220H draws 20 amps through the same cord format and adds 1000 W of in-line heat for faster soil breakdown. Older buildings and occupied properties may not have a suitable 20-amp circuit near the work area, so check the available power before choosing the heated configuration.

  • The 15-amp Neptune 220C fits sites where a 20-amp circuit cannot be assured. Choose the 20-amp Neptune 220H where compatible power is available.
  • The Neptune 220H has 1000 W of in-line heat. It uses the same extraction platform as the non-heated configuration.
  • Both configurations produce 120" of water lift and 97 CFM. Each uses a single 3-stage vacuum motor.
  • Both models operate at 220 PSI. The Neptune 220H uses an on-demand diaphragm pump.
  • Each machine has a 15-gallon solution tank and 15-gallon recovery tank. The matched capacities mean fewer stops during commercial cleaning jobs.
  • Every configuration includes a 13" Trident wand and 15 ft hose set. The supplied tools are the same whether or not the machine has heat.
  • Both models measure 32" L x 23" W x 36" H. The Neptune 220C weighs 92 lbs., and the heated Neptune 220H weighs 98 lbs.

Neptune 220C and Neptune 220H applications and environments

Both configurations are intended for carpet-cleaning contractors, restoration contractors, BSCs, and janitorial businesses that handle repeat extraction work. They can be used in schools, hotels, healthcare facilities, and other commercial properties where 15-gallon tanks and a compact footprint make equipment planning easier. The Neptune 220C suits locations with mixed or uncertain electrical service. Where a 20-amp circuit is confirmed, the Neptune 220H adds in-line heat for faster soil breakdown. Since the vacuum performance, pump pressure, tanks, footprint, wand, and hose set are the same, the choice comes down to site power and whether heat is needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Trident Wand and how does it differ from a standard wand?
The Trident Wand uses three spray jets arranged in a fan pattern across the 13-inch cleaning width, distributing solution more evenly than a single-jet standard wand. More even pre-wetting of carpet fibers ahead of the vacuum slot improves soil suspension and extraction efficiency per pass.
What is the benefit of cold water extraction over hot water on commercial carpet?
Cold water extraction eliminates the risk of heat damage to carpet backing adhesives, fiber dyes, and latex underlay that can occur with high-temperature hot water extraction. It also eliminates the heating element as a maintenance item — a common service point on heated extractors.
Why is the single-cord design important for contractor use?
Most commercial buildings have 15-amp or 20-amp circuits shared across offices. A heated extractor plus vacuum motor can exceed a single circuit's capacity. The Neptune 220C's single 110V cord draws less total amperage, reducing circuit overload risk during single-outlet job setup.
Is 15 feet of hose sufficient for commercial room cleaning?
15-foot hoses require repositioning the machine more frequently than 25- or 50-foot hose setups. In standard hotel rooms and offices (typically 150–250 sq ft), 15 feet allows cleaning from one machine position. For larger spaces, extension hose sections can be added for greater reach.
What does 'Made in USA' mean for parts and service support?
US Products manufactures extractors domestically and supports them through US-based service centers and a domestic parts supply chain. For professional contractors who depend on daily machine availability, domestic service means faster parts sourcing and turnaround compared to imported equipment with international supply chains.
Is the Neptune 220C suitable for upholstery cleaning?
The Neptune 220C is configured as a carpet extractor. Upholstery cleaning requires a separate hand tool attached to the hose and solution line. Contact us to confirm whether hand tool upholstery accessories are compatible with the 05-10004-CP1 configuration.
What carpet types is cold water extraction NOT recommended for?
Cold water extraction is less effective on heavily soiled natural fiber carpet (wool, sisal, jute) where hot water improves soil dissolution. For natural fiber carpet with heavy soiling, hot water extractors produce better results. Cold extraction is well suited for synthetic commercial carpet in routine maintenance cycles.
