Standard vs. HEPA Bags: Choosing the Right Bag

For routine facility cleaning — offices, schools, retail, and general janitorial work — the standard 10-0197 paper bags are appropriate. The Raven's main HEPA filter (10-0219-10-N) is still in place, providing 99.97% at 0.3-micron filtration downstream of the bag. The standard bags reduce debris volume reaching the main filter, extending its service life. When the application requires HEPA-rated containment at the bag level — asbestos abatement, mold remediation, lead paint removal — use the HEPA-rated bags (10-0197-HEPA) instead. Standard bags are the more economical choice for non-regulated cleaning.
