When a Power Head Outperforms Passive Carpet Tools

Standard suction-only carpet tools work well on lightly soiled or recently cleaned carpet. On heavily trafficked commercial carpet — hotel corridors, school hallways, airport lounges — debris becomes mechanically trapped in the carpet pile and cannot be released by airflow alone. A motorized brush roll physically beats and agitates the carpet fibers, releasing embedded soil into the vacuum airstream.
