The SRAT7A runs a 7-inch floating-head vacuum shroud on a 1.2 hp pneumatic motor, covering more ground per pass than the 5" model while routing dust into your vacuum. The shroud floats independently of the motor and rides the slab, keeping the larger disc flat across an uneven surface. For crews with compressed air on site, the air drive carries the wider disc through coating removal and profiling without the duty-cycle limits of an electric tool.
Why Contractors Run the SRAT7A on Air
The wider 7" disc removes more material per pass on open floor, and the 1.2 hp air motor has no windings to overheat, so it sustains that output through continuous grinding. It draws 30 SCFM at 90 PSI through a 3/8" inlet.
- Floating head keeps the 7" disc flat to the surface across an uneven slab, so the wider face cuts evenly instead of digging on one edge.
- 7" disc covers more area per pass than the 5" model, so open-floor grinding and large coating-removal jobs move faster.
- 1.2 hp air motor runs at a continuous duty cycle with no thermal cutout, so it carries the wider disc through a full shift.
- Vacuum shroud captures grinding dust at the source for OSHA respirable crystalline silica compliance when paired with a HEPA vacuum.
- Replaceable wear skirt maintains the vacuum seal and protects the cast-aluminum shroud, so you swap a low-cost part instead of the housing.
- 5/8"-11 arbor accepts a wide range of abrasives; Scotch-Brite Coating Removal discs ship on the tool as standard.
