The Novatek Eco-Strip (N120) is the 230V build of Novatek's smallest infrared tile heater. It sits over the floor and uses radiant heat panels to warm the tile and the adhesive beneath it, so the bond releases and the tile lifts intact. No water, no solvents, and no chipping or grinding, which keeps a vinyl asbestos tile (VCT) job in a non-friable state. At 18 lbs it carries into closets, stairwells, and small rooms where larger machines do not fit.
Why Abatement and Flooring Crews Run the Eco-Strip 230V
Asbestos VCT abatement penalizes dust. Chiseling, scraping, and grinding break tile into airborne fragments; the Eco-Strip avoids that by heating the floor until the tile and mastic separate on their own. Crews lift whole tiles into disposal bags, then move the machine to the next 12" x 12" section. The 230V configuration draws 10 amps, half the current of the 115V build, which suits sites already wired for 220/240V service.
