Burnishing Pad Selection at 1,500 RPM
At 1,500 RPM, use high-speed burnishing pads specifically rated for mid-range to high-speed machines—tan or natural pads for maintained gloss, red pads for more aggressive leveling on worn areas. Standard low-speed buffer pads (black, green) are not designed for 1,500 RPM and will degrade quickly and potentially damage finish at this speed. Compatible finish systems include conventional VCT finishes labeled as high-speed or burnishable, and metal-interlock systems commonly used in healthcare and institutional facilities. Do not use on wax finishes or systems labeled for low-speed buffing only.
