AIR WELD Portable Fume Extractor with 118-Inch Articulated Arm

The Depureco AIR WELD is a mobile welding fume extractor. It captures smoke at the source instead of leaning on general room ventilation. The included 118-inch articulated arm puts the hood next to the plume, and the cabinet rolls on pivoting wheels between weld benches and repair bays. Depureco's 2026 U.S. price list identifies it for fumes from TIG welding. It weighs 176 lb with the arm and stands 36 inches tall.

Depureco AIR WELD Airflow and Filtration

A fan pulls up to 900 CFM at the hood through a 6.3-inch inlet. The flow regulator lets the operator turn that down for smaller jobs or a closer hood position.

  • Included 118-inch articulated arm: set the hood close to the arc and move it as the weld moves, anywhere within reach of the arm.
  • 900 CFM at the hood: the rating is taken at the capture point, where fumes actually enter.
  • Flow regulator: matches airflow to the process and to how far the hood sits from the arc.
  • 18,576 in² Class M cartridge: a large filter surface keeps air moving as welding particulate collects. The cartridge is classed M under EN 60335-2-69.
  • Built-in filter change counter: tracks service timing, so filter changes happen on a schedule rather than when someone remembers.
  • Optional activated carbon: an adsorption stage for odor and some gases. It comes as a 2.5 kg filter inside the main filter or as a 10 kg configuration.

AIR WELD Applications and Environments

AIR WELD suits fabrication shops, repair bays and maintenance departments. It also fits light production welding where fixed extraction at every station doesn't make sense, since one unit can roll from bench to bench as the work moves. Hood placement does most of the work. Keep the hood close enough to catch the plume before it spreads, but clear of the torch, the shielding gas and the part. Depureco notes that processes other than TIG should be checked against fume rate, filler material, capture distance and part geometry before choosing the unit. Treat MIG, flux-core and stick work as a sizing question.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a welding fume extractor like the AIR WELD do?
It captures welding smoke and fumes at the source. The AIR WELD's articulated arm places the hood close to the plume so fumes are pulled in near where they form, rather than relying only on general room ventilation.
How many CFM does the AIR WELD provide?
Up to 900 CFM, rated at the hood. A flow regulator lets you turn airflow down. How much airflow a job needs depends on hood position, distance from the arc, cross drafts and how much fume the process makes.
What welding processes is the AIR WELD meant for?
Depureco's 2026 U.S. price list identifies the AIR WELD for welding fumes from TIG welders. Other processes should be evaluated on fume generation rate, filler material, capture distance and workpiece geometry before selecting it.
How long is the AIR WELD extraction arm?
The articulated arm is 118 inches and comes with the unit. Position the hood close enough to capture fumes before they spread, but far enough away that it does not interfere with the operator, torch, shielding gas or workpiece.
What filter does the AIR WELD use, and is carbon available?
It uses a cartridge filter with 18,576 in² of surface, classed M under EN 60335-2-69. Activated carbon is optional for odor and some gases, as a 2.5 kg filter installed inside the main filter or a 10 kg configuration that replaces it.
Is the AIR WELD portable?
Yes. It rolls on pivoting wheels, so it can move between welding stations where a fixed system is not installed. It weighs 176 lb with the arm, and a built-in filter change counter helps track service.
