Bissell GDC-19-2000 19" High-Speed Commercial Floor Burnisher – 2000 RPM

The GDC-19-2000 delivers 2,000 RPM high-speed burnishing on a 19-inch pad using a 1.5 HP DC rectified motor that maintains consistent speed under pad load without voltage sensitivity. For facilities that need maximum gloss per pass on VCT, vinyl, terrazzo, and sealed concrete in a 19-inch machine — more maneuverable in tighter spaces than the 21-inch BGDC-21-2000 — this is the appropriate specification. Non-conductive dual triggers with interlock switch, adjustable handle, and non-marring bumpers complete the build. Pad driver sold separately.

GDC-19-2000 High-Speed 19" Burnisher Specs

  • Chassis: polished aluminum — lightweight and rigid
  • Safety: non-conductive dual triggers with interlock switch
  • Bumpers: non-marring full-wrap
  • Low-profile drive apron: reaches under counters and cove areas
  • Handle: adjustable height
  • Power cord: 50 ft, 14/3-gauge, rated for 13–15 amp draw
  • Weight: 87 lbs

19" vs 21" at 2,000 RPM — Choosing the Right Width

The GDC-19-2000 and BGDC-21-2000 use identical motors at the same RPM. The only operational difference is pad width: 19 inches versus 21 inches. The 21-inch model covers more floor per pass on wide-open institutional corridors, hospital wings, and airport terminals. The 19-inch model is easier to maneuver around floor fixtures, display cases, lobby furniture, and into alcoves where a 21-inch pad creates contact with wall edges or fixed objects. Facilities with primarily open floor plans should specify the 21-inch. Facilities with high obstacle density or frequent narrow turns should specify the 19-inch. Both produce identical 2,000 RPM high-gloss results on the same floor types.

High-Speed Burnishing Schedule Considerations

At 2,000 RPM, the GDC-19-2000 delivers maximum gloss restoration per pass, making it appropriate for facilities that burnish less than daily — weekly, bi-weekly, or as a restoration step after recoating. The higher RPM also provides faster gloss buildup on fresh finish applied after floor stripping and recoating, minimizing the number of burnishing passes needed before returning the floor to traffic. For daily maintenance burnishing programs where the floor never drops significantly below target gloss, the 1,500 RPM BGDC-19 is the sustainable specification. The GDC-19-2000 is the appropriate choice when each burnishing session needs to achieve maximum luster rather than maintain an already high gloss.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does burnishing do to a floor?
Burnishing polishes a finished floor at high speed to produce a high-gloss shine and harden the coating. The GDC-19-2000 runs at 2000 RPM, the high-speed range that brings up a deep gloss on coated VCT and similar finished floors.
What is the difference between buffing and burnishing?
Buffing runs at lower speeds to clean and maintain, while burnishing runs at high speed to produce gloss. The GDC-19-2000 at 2000 RPM is a high-speed burnisher built for the high-gloss finishing step.
What is the difference between a floor scrubber and a burnisher?
A floor scrubber applies solution, agitates, and extracts dirty water at low speed to clean. A burnisher like the GDC-19-2000 runs dry at 2000 RPM to polish an already-cleaned finished floor. The scrubber cleans; the burnisher shines.
How often should you burnish a floor?
Frequency depends on traffic and finish, from daily in high-traffic retail to weekly or monthly in lighter-use facilities. Burnish after the floor is clean and the finish has cured, following the floor-finish manufacturer's recommendations.
What RPM is the GDC-19-2000?
The GDC-19-2000 runs at 2000 RPM, driven by a 1.5 HP DC motor with a 50-foot cord and a 19-inch path. The higher speed suits facilities wanting a deeper gloss on finished floors.
