The Abatement Technologies AT250RS AquaTrap is a low-grain refrigerant (LGR) dehumidifier for water damage restoration — 266 pints per day at saturation, 400 CFM blower, rated to operate down to 34°F for cold-environment structural drying. 115V single-phase power and a roll-frame chassis suit single-operator deployment on residential and commercial losses.
LGR Dehumidifier Rated for Structural Drying Down to 34°F – 266 PPD at Saturation
The Abatement Technologies AQUATRAP AT250RS is a low-grain refrigerant (LGR) dehumidifier built for water damage restoration contractors who need reliable drying performance across a wide temperature range. It removes 266 pints per day at saturation conditions and 147 pints per day at AHAM standard conditions (80°F, 60% RH), powered by a 1,150-watt compressor drawing 12A at 115V/60 Hz. With 400+ CFM of airflow and sensor-controlled thermodynamic defrost, the AT250RS maintains continuous operation from 34°F to 100°F — covering cold-weather basements and warm-climate slab dries without mode switching.
AT250RS Performance, Controls, and Mobility Engineering
266 PPD at saturation / 147 PPD at AHAM — dual ratings confirm output across both job-site saturation conditions and standard benchmarks
400+ CFM airflow (413 CFM / 700 m³/h) — drives moisture-laden air through the refrigerant circuit faster for quicker GPP reduction
Operating range: 34°F to 100°F — runs through winter basement dries without icing out the coils
Sensor-controlled thermodynamic defrost — detects frost automatically; no timer-based interruptions that pause drying cycles
Automatic water pump — eliminates manual bucket emptying; drains continuously to a floor drain or window during extended operations
Soft-start compressor — reduces inrush current on shared circuits in multi-equipment restoration setups
Touchpad LCD control panel — set target humidity, view current readings, and monitor run hours without opening the unit
12" recessed tires and ergonomic handle — sized for stair climbing in residential and multi-story commercial jobs
Stackable roto-molded plastic housing — stack two units for van loading; housing resists job-site impact without cracking
Integrated cord and hose storage — power cord and drain hose stow inside the unit for clean transport
Job Types and Environments Where the AT250RS Is Used
Water damage restoration contractors deploy the AT250RS on Category 1, 2, and 3 water losses in residential basements, crawl spaces, and multi-story commercial floors. Its 34°F low-end operating temperature makes it the unit of choice for cold-climate structural drying where conventional dehumidifiers stall. Mold remediation firms use it alongside HEPA air scrubbers to draw down ambient humidity below the 60% RH threshold that supports mold amplification. The 400 CFM airflow and stackable design allow restorers to place multiple units in parallel across large warehouse or commercial slab dries without requiring dedicated 20A circuits for each unit.
Xactimate Billing Code, Certifications, and What Ships
At 266 PPD, the AT250RS bills under Xactimate line item WTRDHM>XL — the extra-large LGR category applied to units exceeding 85 PPD at saturation. Restorers should document the unit's AHAM rating (147 PPD) and saturation rating (266 PPD) separately on moisture documentation reports, as some adjusters distinguish between the two. The AT250RS ships as a single unit with the drain hose, power cord, and pleated air filter installed. The high-efficiency pleated filter is field-replaceable without tools. The unit is listed for 115V/60 Hz single-phase power only — confirm circuit availability before deployment on older commercial panels.
What is the difference between the 147 PPD AHAM rating and the 266 PPD saturation rating?
AHAM is measured at 80°F and 60% relative humidity — standard lab conditions. Saturation (266 PPD) is measured at 80°F and 90% RH, representing flooded-structure conditions where walls and floors are wet. Both ratings are valid; restoration contractors use the saturation figure for job-site capacity planning, while Xactimate uses it for billing classification.
What Xactimate line item does the AT250RS bill under?
The AT250RS bills under Xactimate code WTRDHM>XL (extra-large LGR dehumidifier) because its 266 PPD saturation rating exceeds the 85 PPD threshold that defines the XL category.
Can the AT250RS operate in a cold basement in winter?
Yes. The AT250RS is rated to operate from 34°F to 100°F. Its sensor-controlled thermodynamic defrost cycle prevents coil icing, allowing continuous operation in cold-climate basements where conventional dehumidifiers stall.
Does the AT250RS require manual draining?
No. The built-in automatic water pump continuously evacuates condensate to a floor drain or window without operator intervention. This is critical for overnight or weekend unattended drying operations.
How much power does the AT250RS draw, and what circuit does it need?
The AT250RS draws 12A at 115V/60 Hz (1,150W max). A dedicated 15A or 20A single-phase circuit is recommended. The soft-start compressor reduces inrush current, making it easier to run alongside other restoration equipment on shared panels.
Is the AT250RS stackable for van loading?
Yes. The roto-molded plastic housing is designed for stacking during transport. The power cord and drain hose stow inside the unit, keeping the exterior free of protrusions that could shift during transit.
What does the AT250RS ship with?
The unit ships with the drain hose, power cord, and a high-efficiency pleated air filter pre-installed. The filter is field-replaceable without tools.

Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
