Nikro Restoration and Air Duct Cleaning Equipment

What Does Nikro Industries Make?

Nikro Industries has built HEPA-filtered restoration and abatement equipment since 1987, when it introduced the first HEPA vacuums designed for asbestos crews. The Villa Park, Illinois manufacturer now supplies contractors who clean HVAC ducts, remediate mold, and strip lead, asbestos, and hazardous dust from job sites. The catalog runs from portable HEPA vacuums and insulation removal machines to air scrubbers, negative air machines, air duct cleaning systems, mercury recovery vacuums, and fume extractors. Every machine on this page carries a 99.97% certified HEPA filter and the industrial-grade motor pros expect from daily field use. Nikro also stocks replacement filters, bags, and motors for units going back years, so a working machine stays in rotation instead of getting scrapped.

Which Nikro Machine Fits Your Job?

Match the tool to the contaminant. Nikro HEPA vacuums lift fine particulate off surfaces during asbestos and lead cleanup, and insulation removal vacuums clear blown-in attic material in a fraction of the hand-bagging time. For airborne control, Nikro air scrubbers and negative air machines filter particulate and hold containment under negative pressure on mold and flood work. Portable air duct cleaning systems, both electric and gas, cover HVAC contract jobs to NADCA cleaning standards, while mercury recovery and fume extraction units handle specialty hazmat tasks that general-purpose vacuums cannot touch. Duct cleaning contractors usually pair a portable collection system with a HEPA vacuum and a set of whips, and remediation crews run scrubbers and negative air machines together so the air stays clean while the structure dries.

Why Do Contractors Choose Nikro Over Cheaper Imports?

Filter certification and parts availability are the usual reasons crews replace a failed off-brand scrubber with a Nikro. The company publishes HEPA efficiency test data, which supports the documentation insurance restoration work requires and helps crews stay compliant with OSHA exposure rules. Steel and heavy poly housings survive repeated transport between sites, and serviceable components mean a five-year-old power distribution unit gets a fresh motor rather than a landfill trip. For a contractor billing through Xactimate, that mix of durability and paperwork outweighs a lower sticker price.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Nikro known for?
Nikro Industries is a Villa Park, Illinois manufacturer that has built HEPA-filtered restoration and abatement equipment since 1987. It is best known for HEPA vacuums, air scrubbers, negative air machines, and air duct cleaning systems used in asbestos, lead, mold, and HVAC work.
Are Nikro vacuums true HEPA?
Yes. Nikro vacuums use a 99.97% certified HEPA filter that captures particles down to 0.3 microns, which is the standard required for asbestos and lead abatement. Nikro publishes filter efficiency test data to back the certification.
What is the difference between a Nikro air scrubber and a negative air machine?
The same Nikro machine often does both jobs. Run in recirculation mode it works as an air scrubber, filtering particulate from the room air. Ducted to exhaust outside the containment, it works as a negative air machine, holding the work area under negative pressure so contaminants do not escape.
Where are Nikro products made?
Nikro Industries manufactures its equipment in the United States at its Villa Park, Illinois facility, where the company has operated since 1987.
Does Nikro sell replacement filters and parts?
Yes. Nikro stocks replacement HEPA filters, pre-filters, bags, and motors for current and older models, so machines can be serviced and kept in the field rather than replaced.

Brio Air Filtration = Game Changer

Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.

It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.

An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.

We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.

A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
