Hawk Enterprises Floor Machines for Commercial Floor Care
Single-Speed, Two-Speed, or Severe-Duty: Which Hawk Fits the Job?
Hawk builds three broad tiers of rotary floor machine. Single-speed units at 165 to 175 RPM, like the Heavy Duty and Glide Freedom HD, handle daily scrubbing, spray-buff, and light stripping. Two-speed machines add a 300 to 320 RPM setting for faster pad work across the Glide Freedom and Merlin lines. Severe-duty Brute models use a 1.5 HP TEFC motor sealed against dust and moisture for stripping and stone grinding where a standard motor would overheat. Most run 1.0 to 1.5 HP with triple-planetary or high-ratio gearing for torque at the pad.
17-Inch or 20-Inch Cleaning Path?
A 17-inch machine turns easily in restrooms, around fixtures, and in congested retail floors. A 20-inch machine covers more square footage per pass on open corridors, gyms, and warehouse aisles, so it clears large areas faster. Pick the path width by your largest routine cleaning area, and keep a 17-inch unit on hand for detail work if your floors mix tight and open spaces.
Stripping, Scrubbing, Buffing, and Sanding on One Base
Hawk floor machines accept standard pad drivers and brushes, so one base strips finish, scrubs grout, spray-buffs, and polishes depending on the pad you load. Wet/dry (WD) models add a solution tank and splash guard for stripping. The Glide 360 Sanding Star configuration takes an abrasive star for wood and concrete surface prep, and dust-pickup models pull debris while they run. A wet/dry tank vacuum and replacement pad drivers round out the line.
