How Mobile Containment Carts Work
Mobile dust containment carts integrate a negative pressure blower, multi-stage filtration, and a flexible poly work enclosure into a wheeled unit that rolls to any work location. The operator positions the cart, attaches the poly shroud around the work area, and the blower draws air from the enclosure through pre-filters and a final HEPA filter before exhausting clean air into the room. Dust generated by cutting, sanding, chipping, or grinding stays inside the enclosure and is captured by the filtration system rather than dispersing through the building. Setup takes minutes and no poly sheeting or tape is required on surrounding surfaces.
Mobile Carts vs. Full-Area Containment Systems
Traditional abatement containment requires sealing off entire rooms with poly sheeting, establishing negative pressure with a negative air machine exhausting outside, and setting up decontamination chambers — a process that takes hours and is appropriate for whole-room or multi-room abatement projects. Mobile containment carts target small, localized tasks: cutting out a 4×8 sheet of asbestos floor tile, sanding a lead paint patch, or drilling through a contaminated wall to run conduit.
