Mercury Floor Machines for Professional Floor Care
Buffers and Burnishers for Every Floor Maintenance Task
Mercury manufactures two categories of floor care equipment. Low-speed buffers run at 175 RPM and provide the torque needed for scrubbing, stripping, and spray-buff applications on VCT tile, terrazzo, and sealed concrete. High-speed burnishers run at 1,500–2,000 RPM and create the high-gloss finish that restores VCT and stone floors to showroom appearance. The Mercury Corsair is a 3-speed model covering multiple applications in one machine. Cleaning path widths of 17" and 20" suit facilities from compact office restrooms to wide open commercial floor areas. Mercury machines are built for continuous daily use and have a reputation for long service life with proper maintenance.
Compatible Pads, Accessories, and Replacement Parts
Mercury floor machines accept standard 17", 20", and 21" floor pads and pad drivers. Pad color indicates aggressiveness: black for stripping, red or brown for heavy scrubbing, blue for maintenance scrubbing, and white for polishing and spray-buff. Natural hair pads suit sensitive surfaces requiring fine finishing. Pad drivers, solution tanks for spray-buff work, and nylon drive scrubs for grout lines and textured surfaces are available as accessories. Mercury machines do not have proprietary vacuum or filter systems — they are floor buffers and burnishers, not wet/dry vacuums. For vacuum accessories and replacement filters, see the commercial vacuum collections.

Mercury Buffers vs. Floor Scrubbers
Mercury manufactures buffers and burnishers — machines that work on dry or lightly dampened floors to polish, maintain finish, or strip coating. They do not scrub and recover dirty water in a single pass. If your application requires scrubbing a floor and picking up the soiled water simultaneously, that is a walk-behind floor scrubber — a different category of equipment made by brands like NaceCare, Powr-Flite, and Tornado. Buffers and scrubbers serve different roles in a floor care program: scrubbers handle periodic deep cleaning, while buffers handle daily or weekly finish maintenance between scrub cycles.
