BG677 31" Battery Push Sweeper — Triple Brush Coverage for Hard Floors and Low Pile Carpet
The BG677 is a 44-lb manual push sweeper with a battery-powered triple brush system — not self-propelled. The 31" sweep width, 13.2-gallon hopper, and triple brush configuration (two counter-rotating front brushes plus a fiberglass bottom roller) handle debris from fine dust to leaves without cords or emissions. At 44 lbs, it pushes easily on flat floors. The adjustable height accommodates hard floors and low-pile carpet in the same unit. For facilities where a self-propelled sweeper like the BGUS-9 is overkill but a standard manual broom is too slow, the BG677 sits between them.
BG677 Sweep Path, Brush System, and Hopper Capacity
The triple brush configuration is the operational differentiator — two counter-rotating front brushes move debris toward the center while the roller brush captures it, handling mixed debris types (fine particles, leaves, coarse material) that single-brush sweepers struggle to collect in one pass.
31" sweep path — wider than most manual push sweepers; covers more area per pass on open floors
Triple brush system — two front brushes rotate in opposite directions, plus fiberglass bottom roller; handles fine dust and coarse debris simultaneously
13.2-gallon hopper capacity — less frequent emptying stops versus small-capacity push sweepers; reduces downtime on large area jobs
Side rollers — sweep right to walls and baseboards without leaving an edge gap; no second manual pass along walls
Height adjustment — accommodates hard floors and low-pile carpet in the same unit without tool changes
Battery-powered brush motor — no cords; no combustion emissions for indoor use; maintenance-free motor design requires no brush replacement or adjustment
BG677 Applications and Environments
Warehouse back rooms, retail receiving areas, and school cafeterias use the BG677 for quick debris cleanup between shifts where a ride-on or self-propelled sweeper is too large and a standard broom is too slow. Parking garages and covered outdoor areas in dry conditions use the battery-powered brushes without concerns about cord length or exhaust. Outdoor patios, loading docks, and covered walkways handle leaves and coarse debris effectively with the triple brush system. The BG677 is not designed for wet debris or significant liquid collection — dry sweeping applications only.
BG677 Battery Runtime and Coverage Estimates
Battery chemistry and runtime specifications are not published by Bissell for the BG677. The maintenance-free motor design means no brush replacement intervals. Height adjustment accommodates surface variations. For facilities requiring a self-propelled drive to cover large areas without operator fatigue, the BGUS-9 (35" cleaning path, 3-hour battery, self-propelled) is the appropriate step up. The BG677 is push-only — the operator provides the forward motion while the battery drives the brush system only.

No. The BG677 is a push sweeper — the operator provides forward motion. The battery powers the triple brush system only, not the drive wheels. For a self-propelled battery sweeper, see the Bissell BGUS-9 (35" cleaning path, 3-hour runtime, self-propelled drive).
What is the hopper capacity of the BG677?
The BG677 holds 13.2 gallons of debris. This is less than the self-propelled BGUS-9 (15.85 gallons) but substantially more than most compact push sweepers (typically 2–5 gallons), reducing emptying frequency during area coverage.
How wide is the sweeping path?
The BG677 sweeps a 31" path. Combined with the side rollers reaching walls, effective coverage per pass is close to the full 31". At typical walking speed, a 31" sweeper covers approximately 10,000–15,000 sq ft per hour.
What types of debris does the triple brush system handle?
The triple brush — two counter-rotating front brushes plus a fiberglass roller — handles fine dust, sand, paper, leaves, and coarse dry debris in mixed-debris environments. Single-brush sweepers often struggle with fine particles that bounce ahead of the brush; the counter-rotating design captures more fine debris in one pass.
Is the BG677 suitable for wet debris?
No. The BG677 is designed for dry sweeping only. For wet leaves or moist debris, the suction design is not appropriate — use a wet/dry vacuum or a machine with wet debris capability.
What floor types can the BG677 handle?
The BG677's height adjustment accommodates hard floors (concrete, tile, hardwood) and low-pile carpet. It is not designed for high-pile carpet or uneven surfaces. Parking garage concrete, retail hard floors, and cafeteria tile are all appropriate applications.

Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
