V930D HEPA Vacuum — Mold Remediation and Hazardous Dust Containment at 53 dB
The Abatement Technologies V930D is a dry-collection HEPA vacuum rated at 74 CFM airflow and 92 inches of water lift — enough suction to pull fine silica, mold spores, and construction dust through a 32mm hose without particle bypass. At 53 dB measured at 6.5 feet, it runs quietly enough to operate in occupied commercial spaces during business hours, which sets it apart from louder shop-vac alternatives that require after-hours scheduling. The stainless steel canister and multi-stage filtration stack — paper bag, foam pre-filter, and upstream HEPA — mean the exhaust air is clean enough to discharge inside the building rather than requiring ducted exterior ventilation.
V930D Suction Performance and Multi-Stage Filtration
The filtration sequence matters for hazardous material work: coarse debris hits the paper bag first, the foam pre-filter catches mid-range particles, and the upstream HEPA handles sub-micron particulates — extending filter life and maintaining suction over long use cycles.
74 CFM max airflow — moves enough air volume through a 32mm hose to pick up fine dust from rough concrete, drywall sanding residue, and mold-contaminated debris
92" water lift (2,345 mm H2O) — high static pressure for pulling material through longer hose runs or from hard-to-reach surfaces like ceiling joints and wall cavities
99.97% HEPA filtration at 0.3 microns — upstream filter with 13.13 sq ft of filter area; particle capture at the level required for asbestos and lead dust work
4-gallon paper bag capacity — bag collects bulk debris before it reaches the HEPA, extending the replacement interval on primary filter
53 dB at 6.5 ft — comparable to a normal conversation; usable in occupied offices, schools, and healthcare facilities without noise complaints
32 ft power cord — covers most room configurations without repositioning or adding an extension cord
V930D Applications and Environments
Mold remediation contractors use the V930D as their primary containment vacuum during Category 1 and 2 remediation projects, where spore capture and quiet operation in occupied structures both matter. Asbestos abatement crews working in pre-1980 commercial buildings rely on the upstream HEPA configuration for compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101 requirements for fiber containment. Construction cleanup teams use it for post-demo drywall dust and silica removal in schools, hospitals, and occupied office renovations where after-hours scheduling is not possible. Property management companies and janitorial firms keep one on-site for periodic air quality maintenance in facilities with known moisture intrusion history.
V930D Filtration Rating and What Ships in the Box
True HEPA filtration at 99.97% efficiency at 0.3 microns meets OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101 requirements for asbestos fiber containment and is appropriate for lead dust collection in pre-1978 renovation work. The V930D ships with a complete accessory kit: 6 ft hose with bent-end wand, telescopic aluminum wand, combination floor nozzle, crevice nozzle, combination round dust brush/upholstery nozzle, and one paper dust bag. IP20 protection class. 8.7-amp draw at 120V.
Is the V930D HEPA vacuum OSHA-compliant for asbestos and lead dust collection?
Yes. The V930D's upstream HEPA filter captures 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns, meeting OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101 requirements for asbestos fiber containment and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1025 for lead dust collection in renovation and abatement work.
What is the airflow and water lift rating for the V930D?
The V930D delivers a maximum of 74 CFM airflow and 92 inches of water lift (2,345 mm H2O). Both figures are measured at the motor under rated conditions at 110–120V / 60 Hz.
How loud is the V930D during operation?
Sound pressure level is 53 dB(A) measured at 6 feet 6 inches — roughly equivalent to a normal conversation. This makes it appropriate for use in occupied offices, schools, and healthcare facilities during business hours without requiring noise mitigation.
What accessories are included with the V930D?
The V930D ships with a 6 ft hose with bent-end wand, telescopic aluminum wand, combination floor nozzle, crevice nozzle, combination round dust brush/upholstery nozzle, and one paper dust bag. The 32mm hose orifice is a standard size compatible with most aftermarket cleaning tools.
What is the filtration sequence inside the V930D?
The V930D uses three-stage filtration: debris and coarse dust collect in the 4-gallon paper bag first, a foam pre-filter catches mid-range particles next, and the upstream HEPA filter (13.13 sq ft of filter area) handles sub-micron particulates last. This sequence extends the HEPA filter's service life and maintains consistent suction.
Can the V930D be used in occupied buildings during mold remediation?
Yes. The 53 dB noise rating and HEPA exhaust filtration make the V930D suitable for use in occupied commercial spaces. The HEPA filter captures mold spores at 0.3 microns before air is exhausted back into the space, meeting the containment requirements for remediation in occupied structures.

Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
