Ducted Dehumidifiers for Permanent Whole-Building Humidity Control

Why Permanent Ducted Installation Outperforms Portable Stand-Alone Units

A ducted dehumidifier mounts in or alongside the building's HVAC ductwork to deliver humidity control through the same air-distribution path that supplies cooling and heating. The advantages are three: complete spatial coverage (every supply register receives dehumidified air rather than localized dry zones around portable units), invisible footprint (the equipment lives in the mechanical room rather than occupying floor space in a finished area), and lower operating cost per unit of moisture removed at full-building scale. The Ebac CD, K, RM, and PD series ducted dehumidifiers in this collection are engineered specifically for permanent ducted installation with mounting hardware, plenum connections, and static pressure ratings appropriate for residential and commercial duct systems.

Ebac Ducted Dehumidifier Capacity Bands

Ducted dehumidifier sizing matches the building's air handler CFM and the design moisture load. The Ebac CD30 (24 PPD) is sized for small zoned residential ductwork. The CD60, CD85, and CD100E (60–97 PPD) cover full-home ducted installations across 1,500–4,000 sq ft typical residential. The K100E (97 PPD WiFi-enabled, 700 CFM) and CD200 (138 PPD, 664 CFM) handle commercial building HVAC integration. The PD120 (110 PPD, 261 CFM) and PD150-D (145 PPD, 1,130 m³/hr) cover dedicated commercial drying applications and large residential loads. The RM4500 (150 PPD with smartphone monitor) is the highest-capacity dedicated unit in the lineup, suitable for high-moisture commercial installations or large-format residential whole-home duty.

What to Verify Before Ordering a Ducted Dehumidifier

Three site-condition checks save installation problems. Duct compatibility: confirm the planned mounting location has the required clearances for plenum connections, service access, and condensate routing. Static pressure: the dehumidifier's rated external static pressure must match the existing duct system's pressure profile — most Ebac units handle 0.4–0.8 inches WC, suitable for typical residential and light-commercial ductwork. Electrical service: residential units run 110V single-phase, commercial K100E and CD200 require 220V single or three-phase service. Drain handling: gravity drain requires unobstructed slope to a floor drain; pump models (RM4500-H, certain PD-series) accommodate sites without floor-level drainage. Most ducted dehumidifier installations are completed by a licensed HVAC professional with the building's existing system designer or installer.
