Air Scrubbers
Air scrubbers filter airborne contaminants through true HEPA filtration that captures 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns, including mold spores, asbestos fibers, construction dust, and bacteria. HEPA-filtered air scrubbers are required by IICRC S500 and EPA mold remediation protocols for containment zones where negative air pressure must be maintained. Browse Abatement Technologies and XPOWER models from 500 to 2,000 CFM for restoration, remediation, and construction applications.

When a job site or structure requires an air scrubber
An air scrubber pulls contaminated air through a filter stack, removes particulate down to 0.3 microns, and discharges clean air back into the space or exhausts it to the exterior. The machine runs continuously during active work, preventing airborne contaminants from migrating through HVAC systems or into adjacent occupied spaces. Mold remediation, post-flood drying, asbestos abatement, lead paint removal, and active demolition all generate airborne hazards that require active air filtration to meet regulatory thresholds. The EPA mold remediation guide for commercial buildings specifies that air scrubbers with HEPA filtration must be used during active mold removal to maintain negative pressure containment and prevent cross-contamination. Abatement Technologies and XPOWER manufacture the units in this collection specifically for these conditions, with airflow ratings, filter certifications, and housing materials validated for restoration and abatement applications.
Airflow ratings, filter stages, and negative air pressure
Commercial air scrubbers are rated in CFM (cubic feet per minute). The standard for mold remediation, established in IICRC S520 mold remediation standards, requires a minimum of six air changes per hour in the containment zone. Calculate the room volume in cubic feet, multiply by six, and divide by 60 to get the minimum CFM requirement. A 1,200 cubic foot containment zone needs at least 120 CFM of filtration capacity. Most professional units start at 500 to 2,000 CFM, providing substantial margin over the minimum and allowing for negative pressure setups where the scrubber exhausts to the exterior at a rate that keeps containment at lower pressure than surrounding spaces. Negative pressure prevents contaminated air from escaping through containment seams. Three-stage filtration, a pre-filter for large particles, a carbon stage for odors and VOCs, and a final HEPA stage is the configuration required for mold and chemical exposure work. Units with only HEPA filtration skip the carbon stage, making them appropriate for construction dust but not for work involving mycotoxins, formaldehyde, or solvent vapors.

Selecting the right unit for water damage versus construction applications
Water damage restoration and construction dust control share the same equipment category but pull from different ends of the specification range. Restoration work demands true three-stage HEPA units, robust housing that tolerates wet environments and repeated transport, and CFM output sufficient to maintain negative pressure in containment. XPOWER units in this collection cover mid-range CFM needs for residential and light commercial water damage projects. Abatement Technologies machines are specified for larger commercial structures and hazmat-adjacent environments where filter certification documentation, unit labeling, and housing durability are requirements from the project owner or insurer. Construction dust applications, drywall cutting, concrete grinding, or general demolition without known hazardous materials, can often be addressed with simpler units at lower CFM ratings, since the goal is dust capture rather than negative pressure containment. The OSHA silica dust standards for construction specify that air filtration equipment used during silica-generating tasks must meet defined capture efficiency thresholds, so confirming the unit's filter rating against the task type keeps the job site in compliance. Portable units with integrated handles and stackable housing reduce staging time on multi-floor jobs. Units with washable pre-filters extend the service interval on the HEPA stage, reducing consumable cost on long-duration projects.

This vacuum is very light and powerful
Gets the job done without hassle. This vacuum is powerful and reliable for everyday cleaning. Definitely recommend it.
we have three cats, and this purifier has done wonders in removing pet odors and dander
Located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, we acquired our Brio Air Filter in mid-late Spring of this year (2023) when pollen count was high and we were beginning to experience the effects of Poor Air Quality Index as a result of smoke particulates from fires in Canada that caused the air in much of Minnesota to become hazy and simply dirty.
It is so easy to share our experience with the Brio Air Filter given how quickly and efficiently it removed pollen, dust, and smoke particles from the environment inside our home. Two people in our home who suffer from pollen-related allergies during the spring immediately experienced easier breathing and elimination of symptoms within the house. With respect to smoke particulates from Canada drifting into our environment, EVERYONE in our home experienced directly improved breathing and smell of the air when entering from outside.
An additional piece of information to account for is that we have always employed high grade furnace filters in our home’s central HVAC system. With that high grade filtration in place both prior to and after acquiring a Brio home air filter, we all quickly agreed that deploying the Brio in our home made an easily noticeable positive difference in breathing inside our home. Additionally, those of us who clean our home have observed that dust builds up slower on our floors and furniture than before we deployed the Brio unit.
We did note that the Brio is not as quiet as a few other brands/models on the market that we have tried in our home but the efficiency and quality of the filtration, along with the air turnover rate it provides, allows us to locate the Brio unit in central rooms away from the bedrooms. Since we made that change there has been no noise-related effect on our sleep, while the unit maintains the same level of air cleanliness throughout our home.
A last key point to make is how easy the Brio unit is to maintain. The simplicity of the modular construction of the Brio unit makes it very quick and easy to keep the filtration sections clean. We have not yet reached a point of filter replacement but it is obvious to us that the replacement will take a matter of seconds and can be executed by anyone in our home, including our 10-year-old son.
this bedroom purifier has transformed my sleep quality. the air is so much fresher and cleaner worth every penny
very customer friendly and professional design.
perfect for maneuvering in tight areas the HEPA filter is a huge bonus
It seems to help reduce my allergy issues. We're glad we bought it. The only problem I had was not seeing any cubic footage recommendations in the online description when purchasing the unit. Bedrooms vary widely in size!!
This vacuum has exceeded my expectations. It's super powerful and handles daily cleaning with ease. I recommend it to everyone.
really effective in sweeping up all kinds of debris from our warehouse floor
works wonders on tough carpet stains. it's compact and easy to use for upholstery cleaning too
